Fixing Express Keys Not Working on Wacom Cintiq with Photoshop in Windows 10

Sometimes the express keys on a Wacom Cintiq stop working. This may happen particularly when changing Wacom devices and/or Wacom drivers.
 
First make sure that the Cintiq has focus when testing the express key. Focus is established by either clicking a regular mouse or the pen somewhere on the Cintiq.
 
Mysterious sudden express keys not working when previously working is most likely caused by the Cintiq device becoming unrecognized. The following quick procedure may work.
  • Launch Wacom desktop
  • Check if device shows on list
  • Make sure photoshop custom keyboard settings used with Wacom Cintiq are still active
    • => Photoshop => Edit => Keyboard shortcuts and menus
    • Select custom set previously saved
  • Turn off power Wacom Cintiq
  • Turn power on Wacom Cintiq
  • If still not working, try log-off followed by log-on
  • If still not working, try reboot
 
Otherwise, the following procedure full procedure is likely to work:
  • Turn off power Wacom Cintiq
  • Open Tablet Preference File Utility and remove My Preferences and All User Preferences
  • Delete wacom drivers in programs and features
  • Restart PC when prompted
  • Download latest Wacom Cintiq driver
  • Power on Wacom Cintiq
  • Install Wacom Cintiq driver
  • Touch pen to screen and calibrate screen
  • Open the Tablet Preference File Utility and remove My Preferences and All User Preferences
  • In wacom tablet properties, assign new Express Key function
  • Test in Photoshop after establishing focus on the Cintiq monitor
