The May Natural History Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado displays one of the most remarkable collections of tropical insects anywhere. The insect collection was started by James F. W. May while living in Brazil. Only about 8,000 insects are on display from a total collection of over one hundred thousand. The bigger-than-life insect sculpture at the entrance alone is worth the trip. The museum is still operated by the May family.
